Plastics service

We are known for our world-leading work in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Our patients often deal with life changing illness, injury and trauma.

Here at St Andrew’s, people trust that they will receive the expert care they need.  When people entrust us with their care, they have the right to demand the very best – that is why the pursuit of excellence compassion and respect is at the heart of everything we do at St Andrew’s.

Hand trauma and minor injuries

This is a regional unit which specialises in hand trauma and plastic surgery.

We conduct 30 minor operations a week. This could be anything on the body that cannot be operated on normally.

We provide care for approximately 5 million people from a very large area which includes Essex, east London, Kent, and the Suffolk border.

To find out more about the services we offer, visit the Hand trauma and minor injuries page.

Breast reconstruction

The plastics team work closely with our Trust's breast care team to treat patients who have had breast reconstruction following cancer.

We specifically aid in nipple tattooing to colour in the newly built nipple for a more natural look. This service boosts morale and confidence for breast patients.
