Pre-medical school
If you are a pupil and are interested in pursuing a career in medicine then we have lots of opportunities for you. We offer:
- Medical Work Shadowing for years 12 and 13 (16 years or older)
- Yearly Summer School in Chelmsford (for GCSE/A levels students)
- Annual careers morning at Southend Hospital (for years 12 and 13)
- Annual Medic insight day at Southend Hospital (for years 11 and 12).

We provide clinical placements for medical students from a range of universities:

Foundation doctor training opportunities
We have a comprehensive medical educational and training programme for our foundation 1 and 2 doctors. We have site-based dedicated Foundation Programme Director(s) and administrators to provide support and guidance.
