Skin cancer pathway award winner treats patients like family

Values Compassion

A dedicated member of staff at Basildon Hospital has won a monthly Values Award for compassion.

Diane Line was nominated by Mark Broad, senior patient pathway coordinator at the hospital, who said: "Diane treats all her patients as family and will always consider their care and needs when helping move their care forward.

"When calling our patients, Diane will always spend a few extra minutes chatting to those who are clearly lonely and need someone to talk to and considers the patient's needs first and foremost.

“She has always been their best advocate, leads the way for others and acts with care and compassion towards our patients.”

The award is part of a new monthly awards scheme for Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, recognising staff who have showcased the Trust’s values of Excellent, Compassionate and Respectful.
