A group of cancer patients have helped create a new and improved website area offering vital information and support for those diagnosed with cancer and their families.

It's been a busy year for the Trust. Despite numerous challenges, staff across the three main hospitals at Basildon, Southend and Broomfield, as well as its satellite sites, have remained focussed on providing excellent care and finding innovative ways to improve patient experience. 

A festive treat of 270 Christmas hampers filled with goodies, are being delivered to hospital staff working on Christmas Day, in recognition of their dedication. 

Billericay Round Table and Richlee Motor Company brought holiday cheer to Basildon Hospital with Santa’s sleigh, swapping reindeer for something with a bit more horsepower – Harley-Davidson riders from the Lakeside Chapter.

Hospital patients receiving care in their own homes on Christmas Day can expect to find a little extra cheer.

Patients staying in hospital this Christmas Day will receive a festive boost, thanks to the delivery of 2,500 gifts.

Hospital staff have had specialist training on a cutting-edge radiotherapy machine that will help treat cancer patients. The machine is the first of its advanced-type in the country, and is the very latest version of it for cancer treatment.

Christmas is made brighter for hospital patients, thanks to the generosity of a ward manager who has made it her tradition to buy a small gift for each person on the ward. 

Hospital patients are being encouraged to keep active and maintain their independence, helping improve their recovery times.

A children’s fracture clinic has waved a wand of creativity, transforming it into a magical world inspired by Harry Potter.
