A 75-year-old man, who survived cancer as a child and was inspired to become a consultant, is running the Southend Half Marathon this weekend (Sunday 11 June) for a Southend cancer appeal.

The Friends of Broomfield have donated 150 pairs of non-slip slippers to Broomfield Hospital’s Falls Team to hand out to wards with patients who are more likely to have falls. One in three people over 65 will have at least one fall a year.
