New campaign asks you to show your love for local hospital staff

With lockdown upon us and restaurants closed, Valentine’s Day will be a little different this year; but instead of buying those expensive chocolates you could share the love with local hospital staff.

It’s the idea of Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity, and is designed to support everyone who has helped in the fight against Covid across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Lucy Thomas-Clayton, director of charities and voluntary services, said: “Our staff are working incredibly hard and going above and beyond to care for patients during these very challenging times. You can now show your appreciation by making a donation to our campaign and supporting a range of health and wellbeing initiatives, which will directly benefit our staff across Basildon, Southend and Broomfield hospitals.”

So how can you help? Whether it’s money to go towards a £10 fruit basket for 30 people or £50 to fund a counselling session, donations will go a long way to support staff who have been helping on the frontline and behind the scenes at your local hospital.

Supporters are being encouraged to ‘click a heart’ and donate on a dedicated Valentine’s Day fund, where you can also leave a message of thanks. You can find out more about the #MSEHealthyBodyHealthyMind campaign here: https://visufund.com/mse-share-the-love
