We are delighted to present our 10-year strategy that sets out how we will deliver high quality care for the people of mid and south Essex over the next ten years.

We are one of the largest Trusts in the country and understand just how important healthcare is to every one of our residents.

This strategy is the result of a year-long collective effort involving staff, clinicians, patients and wider system partners. It is shaped around four clear priorities:

  • Empowering our people to excel
  • Helping our communities to thrive
  • Delivering high-performing, sustainable services
  • Building cohesive, effective partnerships that deliver benefits for our population.

Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“This strategy is a bold and necessary step forward that sets out how we will meet the changing needs of our communities in the decade ahead. We are committed to redesigning and delivering sustainable services that give patients the best possible experience and outcomes, while ensuring we are spending taxpayers’ money responsibly now and for the future.

“We have worked tirelessly with patients, staff and external partners to help us develop this strategy into something we can all get behind and drive forward. We will push ahead as ‘one team working together for excellent patient care,’ and look forward to working with our communities to help us do that.”
