Hospital staff working Christmas Day delivered hampers full of thanks

Almost 300 Christmas hampers have been delivered to hospital staff who will be working on Christmas Day, in recognition of their dedication.

The yearly hampers are made possible through funding from Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity.

They’ve been delivered to wards and units across the Trust, in Southend, Basildon and Broomfield hospitals, as well as its smaller sites.

The hampers include a range of goodies such as mince pies, chocolates, biscuits, and other festive treats to brighten the days for hardworking healthcare teams.

Dawn Scrafield, Chief Executive of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, thanked staff for their commitment. She said: “We recognise that working on Christmas Day isn’t easy, especially when it means time away from loved ones. These hampers are our way of saying thank you. We hope they add a little festive brightness and remind colleagues just how much they are appreciated.”

Lucy Thomas-Clayton, Director of Charities and Voluntary Services at the Trust, said: “We are really pleased to play our part in helping bring some Christmas joy to our amazing hospital staff. Their efforts throughout the year make a real difference to our patients and colleagues every single day, and this is just one way we can show our thanks.”
